Range Performance

FIRST AND FOREMOST, OUR BREEDING PROGRAM IS ABOUT RANGE PERFORMANCE

Breeding Females

We require of our females that they be moderate framed, have good udders, have good spring of rib (large capacity), and produce muscular calves. We expect our cows to wean a calf that is one-half of Momma's weight at 205 days of age while Momma eats only grass or hay. Our heifers come from genetics that meet those performance criteria.

Breeding Bulls: Performance Tested; Pasture Ready

When we sell a bull of breeding age, he will: (1) have been through a bull test to measure his performance in gain, breeding soundness, loin eye size, and marbling. (2) have received gene testing for feed efficiency, tenderness, and meat quality. (3) not "fall apart" when he begins breeding under range conditions. Below are two examples of our breeding-age bulls.
